BEFORE the end of its initial run in Chicago on March 10, the Tony Award-winning best musical Dear Evan Hansen already is scheduled to return to Chicago for a limited 12-week engagement from July 7 through September 27, 2020, at the James M. Nederlander Theatre. The winner of six 2017 Tony Awards has been described as “one of the most remarkable shows in musical theater history” and focuses on a youngster’s social obstacles that make it difficult for him to connect with other people and make friends. "Chicago audiences love Dear Evan Hansen, and we are thrilled and thankful Chicago will be the very first city to have a return engagement," said Eileen LaCario, vice president of Broadway in Chicago.
