Brendon Coyle steps into the spotlight as the star of Conor McPherson's 1997 thriller St. Nicholas, directed by Simon Evans at the Goodman Theatre through January 27. Known for his Emmy Award-nominated role as "Mr. Bates" in the wildly popular "Downton Abbey" television series, Coyle, an Olivier Award-winning actor, exhibits his multiple talents in the major revival that has received international acclaim. The show was inspired by a dream that McPherson had in which he was bitten by a vampire and given two painkillers. The play is enhanced by a creative team that includes scenic designer Peter McKintosh, lighting designer Matt Daw and sound designer Christopher Shutt. For more information go to
