The Chicago West Community Music Center presents its first annual W.I.S.H recital benefit and fundraiser on May 20 at the Columbus Park Refectory. The 11 a.m to 1 p.m. event will feature students from the Westside Instruction Strings and Harp program, a program that employs traditional and Suzuki teaching methods for those who want to learn to play the harp, violin, cello and guitar. "Our mission," says Howard Sandifer, founder of Chicago West Community Music Center, "is to harness the creative potential of individuals through education to inspire artistic and cultural expression in such a way that we help foster positive relationships across neighborhood lines." Admission to the benefit is $20.
