Sergio Mendes, the legendary Brazilian entertainer who has popularized the mix of bossa nova with jazz and funk, returns to City Winery for two shows on June 30. The three-time Grammy Award-winner has become one of the most influential musicians in the world. His five-decades-long career includes more than 40 albums and notable remakes of popular songs such as "The Look of Love," "The Fool on the Hill" "and "Scarborough Fair." The appealing '80s single "Never Gonna Let You Go" renewed his career and reached the No. 1 spot on the Adult Contemporary chart and ranked in the Top 10 on the Pop charts.
