In its first on-ice production, Cirque du Soleil presents "Crystal: A Breakthrough Ice Experience" at Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates from November 16-19. During the sometimes breathtaking show, gymnasts and skaters skillfully perform acrobatics on the ice and in the air while bringing synchronized skating and freestyle offerings together in the unique style in which Cirque du Soleil is known. Aside from the artistry, there is a story in this production, which introduces spectators to the character Crystal, who after seeing her reflection on the ceiling skating upside down, begins a tour of self-discovery as she speedily glides on the ice in a bizarre world. Crystal is Cirque du Soleil's 42nd original production since 1984. For tickets and more information, go to www.searscentrearena.com or www.cirquedusoleil.com.
