The production, set in 19th century France, tells the engaging story of French peasant Jean Valjean and his fight for redemption after spending 19 years in jail for the theft of a loaf of bread to feed his sister's starving child. Based on the novel by French poet and novelist Victor Hugo, Les Misérables has been seen by more than 70 million people in 44 countries and in 22 languages around the world. It features a score of beloved songs, including "On My Own," "I Dreamed A Dream," "Bring Him Home," "One Day More" and "Stars."
The documentary Jane, which focuses on the journey of primatologist Jane Goodall, will be shown on October 23-24 at AMC Theatre East as part of the 2017 Chicago International Film Festival.
